George Bowers, born in England, died 30 December 1656 Cambridge, Ma. He married 9 February 1614/15 Braithwell, England to Barbara Smyth, died 25 March 1644. He married 2nd, 15 April 1649 at Cambridge, Ma. Elizabeth Worthington. Elizabeth married 2nd Henry Bowtell. George was of Scituate, Ma. in 1637, in 1639 he purchased lands in Plymouth, and Cambridge in 1642. He was a planter, builder, and owner of ships. Town officer. He was before the court 31 May 1652 for voting when not a freeman of this colony. Deeded land to his son Benannuel in 1656. In his will he bequeathed to wife, and sons Benanuel, John and Jerathmeel, and daughters Patience and Silence. Children: of George and Barbara Bowers born in England JOHN m.
