This was the second house in Thompsonville and was known as the Old Waller Tavern. It was constructed of huge logs. It was the early home of Mrs Ella ?undy and was located where my Joiner now lives. The house was torn down in 1924 by Ed Frailey and the present building was built the same year. No doubt many stage coaches and other travelers stopped here in the early years enroute from St. Louis to Shawneetown. The ladies in the picture were Liza Waller on the left and Ruth Clark on the right.
